Greentech to start construction of Polish wind farm in October

Danish wind-farm manager Greentech Energy Systems A/S announced today that the construction works of its Polish wind turbine project Wojciechowo will start in October 2011.

The 32.2 MW project is jointly developed and will be constructed and operated in a 50:50 joint venture with Polish state-owned energy company Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE).

Construction work is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The Wojciechowo project will comprise 14 wind turbines, each with capacity of 2.3 MW, which will be delivered by German wind turbine maker Nordex.

Final negotiations and signing of all supply contracts are expected shortly, Greentech said.

The Danish company sees large potential in the Poland market in the long term, Peter Hostgaard-Jensen, chairman of the company's board of directors, said.
