Polish domestic appliances producer Amica will sign the contract selling another two of its plants in the Polish town of Wronki to the Korean consumer electronics group Samsung by end-March, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna found out.
The planned sale follows a similar move several months ago, when Amica sold to Samsung two of its unprofitable plants for 240 million zlotys, a very good price given the difficult economic environment, according to analysts, the daily writes.
Amica will still produce fridges and washing machines but will focus on production of heating equipment. The company also wants to extend its exports to Russia, Germany, Scandinavia and England, alongside with its market share on those markets, Amica's CEO and main shareholder Jacek Rutkowski told the daily.
